I was supposed to get on a plane for a weekend away tomorrow, but decided that was going to bring some drama – which I definitely do not want, in my life. So I said fuck it, cancelled my ticket and am now staying home trying to survive this heatwave in San Diego.
Don’t rely on others to ensure your happiness/awesomeness. It’s fab to surround yourself with great supportive people to share your life with, but if they prevent you from being your most awesome self, start walking away from them and towards your best path instead.
Instead of doing laundry and packing I am now starting off my #BeAwesome birthday weekend celebration in a sarong and tipping back a Hinano Tahiti brew, NO REGRETS, cheers!
I will never grow tired of my amazing beach backyard or drinking a Sculpin from Ballast Point. Craft beer in cans FTW. Cheers!
If you haven’t been to D Bar in San Diego and you love good booze, comfort food, and most of all desserts – you need to go. Now. I’ll go with you.
This lovely cocktail was the D Bar Concoction of the Day – a salty dog made with a jalapeño infused vodka. 10/10, would drink again.
Whenever I travel I always try to drink local. On a recent visit to Minneapolis I had a fantastic meal at Red Cow and tried the following brews: Indeed Shenanigans, Surly CynicAle, Steel Toe Size 7 IPA, and Indeed Let it Ride IPA. My server (I think her name was Kelsey) made these suggestions and did not steer me wrong. Cheers to some great midwest brews!
As promised the Booze Blog is back and we’ll be cheers’ing on Friday’s! This summer tip back an Almanac Beer Co. Golden Gate Gose – a perfect brew for the warmer months.

I had decided earlier this week to bring back to booze blog and what a day to bring in back! Cheers to FINALLY having marriage equality in the US!
The good booze blog first premiered on tumblr July 11, 2009. I was recovering from my third foot surgery and rather than taking pills I imbibed in a few drinks at night. After surgery I was on bed rest for 14 weeks, couldn’t work, and had a ton of time to waste – so I drank and posted my boozing self online.
Eventually maintaining the booze blog became too much – especially for my liver. I still appreciate good booze but no longer document my antics online. Enjoy the archives!

The spice factor, the price ($6), and the pickled tomatillo’s make the bloody mary at World Famous in Pacific Beach my current favorite. Cheers!
